We are so glad you visited our new site! A lot has been going on in our family and we wanted a way to share it with all of our friends at once… hence this weblog. We have plans to keep this site updated, so check back frequently and please keep in touch.  Also, unless otherwise specified, these entries will be made by Rosemary.

As you may know by now, in February I found out that I have been accepted into the doctoral program at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Then, in March, we took a family road trip up to Philadelphia (driving almost all of the 20+ hours in the rain!) to visit the school and look around the city. We found Philadelphia to be charming in some areas, but mostly busy, loud, and dirty… not exactly what we’re used to in Tulsa. Its definitely out of our comfort zone! But the school had everything that I had hoped for in a graduate program. I heard another student say that its small enough that you know everyone in your program but has the financial and intellectual resources of an entire college. Its a five year commitment and will definitely be an emotional, intellectual, and spiritual challenge.

After a lot of discussion and soul-searching, we’ve decided to move forward with plans to move to Philadelphia in August 2008. We are very excited but also scared and anxious. We are learning to let go of our fears and uncertainties and rely on God’s will for our future. We know that He opens doors for a reason and we believe that He will use this experience to grow us in areas where we have become stagnant in Tulsa.
